The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including, without limitation:
– Relief of food insecurity. Relieving and reducing food insecurity in Lake County, Illinois by providing free household and family food baskets to individuals and families who are residents of Lake County and who meet objective intake criteria based on self-disclosed need, with distributions primarily during the holiday season and additional distributions as community needs arise and funds are available;
– Support to Youth. Providing relief, services and programming to children and youth in economically disadvantaged circumstances by providing school supplies, holiday toy giveaways, clothing and other immediate needs, as well as providing civic, cultural and educational field trips for youth residing in Lake County, Illinois ZIP codes identified as low-income (60085, 60064, 60099, 60073) through a public distribution process open to members of the public who meet the objective geographic requirements;
– Community health education and prevention. Promoting community health by providing community-focused educational information, prevention-oriented resources, awareness materials, and related activities addressing diabetes and other health disparities.
– Hope Fest (annual community event). Sponsoring and conducting Hope Fest, the annual free community event in Lake County, Illinois, featuring entertainment, community vendors, free access to community resources, offering prevention-focused health information and education and encouraging whole family connection, all in furtherance of the Corporation’s charitable and educational purposes.
